Who is Asaram Bapu?
Asaram Bapu is a Hindu preacher from India.
Asaram Bapu is an Indian saint, who preaches the existence of One Supreme Conscious. He has been a controversial figure, since 2013 and has allegedly gotten involved in several crimes.
He started preaching Hinduism, from his first ashram which was built in the early 1970. At present, there are about 400 ashrams, under his ownership. Asaram Bapu was born as Asumal Thaumal Harpalani on April 17, 1941 and is married to Lakshmi Devi. He has two children, Narayan Prem Sai Harpalani and Bharti Devi. After leaving his family, Asaram went to saint Lilashah’s ashram.
Asaram Bapu is known for his devotional teachings and claiming the practice of Bhakti yoga, Gnana yoga and Karma yoga. He preaches people to believe in god’s existence inorder to receive their blessings. He has spread his teachings to major parts of the country, which started from Gujarat. He is a well known saint in Ahmedabad. He is considered as one of India’s best spiritual gurus and a self-styled philosopher. Formally, Asaram has been arrested for the rape of a 16-year old girl. He has allegedly been involved in many of crimes since 2012.
