The first Disneyland theme park was located in Anaheim, California, USA.
The Walt Disney Company, commonly known as Disney, is one of the most popular multinational mass media corporations. The company was founded by brothers, Walt and Roy Disney as the Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio on October 16, 1923. While it was originally an animations studio, today it has become a diversified conglomerate. In fact, it is largest media conglomerate in the world in terms of revenue.
Disney now has factions in animation, live-action film production, television, travel, theater, radio, music, publishing, merchandising, and even online media. Additionally, Disney also owns and has licensed a total of 14 theme parks around the world, as well as another one in the works. These parks are commonly known as Disneyland.
The first and original Disneyland was opened on July 17, 1955 in Anaheim, California, by Walt Disney himself. However, the park has since expanded greatly. Eventually, the site was renamed the Disneyland Resort, when the Disney California Adventure Park among other venues opened in February 2001.
