Sleep plays an important factor in almost every aspect of healthy living. Sleeping a good number of hours – around 9 hours – for children is often good to help them increase in height and to also remain healthy. The human growth hormone (HGH) is produced naturally in our bodies, especially during deep or slow wave sleep. Getting good, sound sleep will encourage the production of HGH, which is created in the pituitary gland. This also keeps them from remaining lethargic throughout the whole day.
In addition to getting a good night’s sleep and exercise, a healthy diet is also important for children that are still growing. Add foods that contain vitamins, proteins, calcium, zinc, magnesium, and phosphorus – all of which play an important role in increasing height. Include foods such as milk, carrots, fish, chicken, eggs, soybeans, oatmeal, potatoes, beans and green vegetables to your diet. Also consume fruits and even a small amount of nuts.
