Meaning of Generation Gap

There are many middle-age adults that complain that they cannot communicate with their children due to the Generation Gap. Likewise, there are many young adults that blame the Generation Gap when people older than them fail to see their viewpoint.

The Generation Gap is exactly what its name suggests; it is a gap between two generations. The Generation Gap defines the differences between the generations of people. This may include the difference in tough processes, in values and attitudes, as well as differences in actions, beliefs, tastes, etc.

The Generation Gap has existed between generations in nearly every period of history. However, the Generation Gap has widened in the 20th and 21st centuries and is more prominent now. This is mainly due to the fact that the world is changing rapidly now, due to technology and rapid cultural change in the modern and postmodern period. The Generation Gap now relates especially to musical tastes, fashion, technology and politics.
